SPEDI Nisa launched

SPEDI Nisa replaces OCS Engine so stores can receive even more product information from NISA in their electronic updates files.

SPEDI Maintain and SPEDI Till exchange files with most major wholesalers.  To do this, STD have written a number of modules which take files and commands in a standard form from Maintain and Till, convert them to the form required by the wholesaler, then control the transmission process.

For stores wishing to communicate with NISA, the module which has been used is called OCS Engine. A  new module called SPEDI Nisa is now available to replace this.

SPEDI Nisa uses all the latest information that we have about the NISA files to extract data including NISA promotions and consumer promotions.  When compared with OCS Engine, extra pieces of information are received, some of which use fields which have only recently been included in the file.   Examples are pallet prices, core range, core range plus, price check, and price check plus.  

VAT rates are read from a file which can be maintained by the user so that the changes expected at year end can be set up in store.  We have put extra flexibility into this set up as we fear that more changes may be made after the election.

 For the longer term,  SPEDI Nisa has been designed to link more closely with SPEDI Maintain and SPEDI Till, so that future versions of these programs will control SPEDI Nisa directly, and the user will not have to be involved – except for the web based confirmation of the order which is required by Nisa.

We recommend that any user of OCS Engine should contact his dealer to ask for SPEDI Nisa before the VAT changes.  As is our practice, the new software is available without charge to users with a current support contract.  We believe that the new program will link with any version of SPEDI Maintain, but your dealer will check when you ask for the upgrade.
